Who we are
Window Memory is a developer tool operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"). Payments are processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which acts as our Merchant of Record — Polar is the seller of record for all subscriptions and handles billing, invoicing, and tax.
The short version
- Free is 100% local. Runs on your computer with your own AI key. Your data stays on your machine; nothing is sent to our servers.
- Pro follows you across devices and your team — AI analysis included, no key to set up. Secrets are stripped first; we never store your raw sessions. Only extracted event summaries (what you decided and why) sync — never your code.
- Your API keys are encrypted on your computer and never sent to us.
What we collect
- Account: your email and basic profile from your sign-in provider (e.g. GitHub).
- Memory summaries (Pro only): short summaries of what you worked on and the decisions you made (and why). Stored so your memory can follow you across devices, and — for teams — be shared.
- Billing: handled by Polar. We receive subscription status, not your card details.
What we never collect
Your source code, your raw files, and your AI API keys. Keys are encrypted on your own computer and are never sent to us.
Where your data lives & who processes it
- Supabase (United States) — stores your account and, on Pro, your synced summaries.
- Polar — payments and subscriptions.
- AI analysis — on Free, masked session text goes to your chosen provider (Google / OpenAI / Anthropic), billed to your own key. On Pro, analysis is included (no key required); masked text is processed on our side and we never store raw sessions.
How we handle your synced data
On Pro, your event summaries are stored encrypted and isolated to your account. We access stored data only when it's needed to run the service — resolving an issue, helping with a support request you've made, or meeting a legal obligation — and never for any other purpose. We don't sell, rent, or share it. Prefer that nothing ever leaves your computer? The Free tier is fully local by design.
Your rights
You can export or permanently delete your synced data at any time from Settings, or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your cloud-stored events. Local data on your machine is always yours.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
